University Medical Center
Construct: 2
Laboratory: 2
Node: 2
Status: Progenitors/Void Engineers

Background & Appearance:
Originally the first Technocratic Construct based in Las Vegas complete with its own Primal Battery, University Medical Center is the home to Amalgam USLV001 and USLV002.

The UMC headquarters is formed from a large, subterranean bomb shelter built in the 1950's and later decommissioned and abandoned. It is a self-contained environment with appropriate facilities, and is also connected to the hospital complex.

The headquarters consists of three levels (only one originally, but was later expanded upon through efforts of Biomechanics and Q Division); Level One contains administration: Reception, Operations, and offices, including that of Magdolyn Bard, the construct Supervisor. Level Two contains the laboratories and workshops housing scientists and engineers, as well as a small garage and tunnel shaft granting vehicle access from the surface. Level Three contains storage, accommodations, and environmental support systems.

Agents accessing the construct typically do so through the Hospital. All local personnel are assigned identification cards that allow them to pass through all levels of the hospital and reach the protected elevator and stairwell.

Mechanics:
Technocratic Science is fairly easy in the sub-levels of the UMC Headquarters. Progenitors and Void Engineers benefit most from this. Despite how much new and future technology is used to outfit the Construct, its walls are indeed old and thick. However, there are only subtle signs of degradation when any appear at all.

The lower levels of the facility are off-limits to all but the Enlightened Agents who have access to the floors below the utility level of the building. While hypertech seems limitless in the subterranean floors of the Construct, the hospital floors above ground are outfitted with enough Sympathizers and mid-level Progenitor Devices and Biomechanics Apparati to modify emergency/recovery rooms at any given time to cater to Technocrats wounded in the line of duty.

Summary: All Enlightened personnel assigned to the Las Vegas Symposium is issued identification allowing them access to the sub-levels via elevator or stairwell. Within the Hospital itself most Technocratic Science can be considered Coincidental. Especially Life Science, which is effectively -1 difficulty. Sub-Levels allow -1 difficulty to all Scientific Spheres.

Running Effects: None of particular note.

Staff: While the sub-levels provide enough space for two Amalgams to operate, most Sympathizers operate above-ground in the mundane parts of the Hospital. This prevents Super Science and Hypertech from leaking into the public.

Notable Figures:
Magdolyn "Maggie" Bard (NPC; New World Order, Watcher)

[Intelligence + Lore: Technocracy, difficulty 8]
[Intelligence + Lore: New World Order, difficulty 6]

Ms. Bard is the head of Administration at the University Medical Center. She is responsible for dispensing identification and clearance amongst Operatives assigned to the Las Vegas Symposium. Her influence over the Hospital is tied in to its records, as she holds official title as the Administrator of Medical Research and Development Technologies.

Her subordinates handle acquisition of personnel to field Amalgam USLV002, a collective of Progenitor Researchers and Void Engineer Scientists.

More information on USLV001 can be found here.

Dr. Solomon Adler (NPC; Progenitor, Genetic Engineer)

[Intelligence + Lore: Technocracy, difficulty 7]
[Intelligence + Lore: Progenitors, difficulty 7]
[Intelligence + Lore: New World Order, difficulty 8]

The high-profile Doctor Adler is the most recent addition to the local Progenitors. After an anomalous virus appeared following the devastation at 3930 West Post Road, the World Health Organization ordered specialists to be dispatched in the area. It was quite easy for Solomon Adler, one of the Union's most well-renown Damage Control specialists and public relations team, to slip into the fray to help sedate the Masses and help maintain Order in the wake of disaster.

Respectful of on-going operations and procedures handled by the local Symposium, Solomon is one who helps where he can and has donated a large portion of his personal funds to help rebuild a wing of the hospital which came under Reality Deviant attack. Though he is a man who moves with both purpose and authority, he is very to the point and requires only obedience and results. When assistance is asked of him he will remain rather human and accommodating.

Rather than interfere with USLV001's affairs, Adler has recently began recruiting Operatives from all around the immediate area and neighboring states in hopes of increasing USLV002's effectiveness.
